  • Part-Time (20 to under 32 hours per week): $750

Nonrefundable Credit and Carryforward:

It is important to note that the Louisiana Youth Job Credit is nonrefundable, meaning it cannot be claimed as a direct payment; however, businesses can carry forward any unused credit for up to five years, reducing their tax liabilities in subsequent years.

Empowering Louisiana Youth and Boosting Business:

The introduction of the Louisiana Youth Job Credit is a significant step toward reducing youth unemployment and creating a positive impact on the state's economy. By offering financial incentives to businesses, the program encourages the hiring of eligible youth, providing them with valuable work experience and income. Moreover, it targets specific groups, such as those who have faced challenges in education, experienced housing instability, or had involvement with the justice system.

The benefits of this program extend beyond short-term employment. It allows young individuals to develop essential skills, gain financial independence, and build a foundation for future career success.
